The working day for all private sector employees in the UAE will be reduced by two hours during the Holy Month of Ramadan, authorities have confirmed.

In announcement issued by Saqr bin Ghobash Saeed Ghobash, Minister of Labour, it was also confirmed that there will be no salary reductions, according to news agency WAM.

The working hour reductions are the result of the implementation of the provision of Article 65 of Federal Law No. 08 of 1980 concerning the regulation of labour relations and its amendments.

As previously reported, Ramadan will begin on June 29, with Eid – the end of Ramadan – to begin on July 28.

The working hours for employees at various Ministries and other Federal Institutions in the UAE will be from 9.00am to 2.00pm
