Al Khozama Residence will open in 2016 and Al Faisaliah Hotel & Spa is set to open the following year in 2017, and combined the properties add a total of 396 keys to the city.

Another Al Khozama-managed project opened outside of Riyadh last November. Emaar-owned The Bay La Sun Hotel & Marina was the first hotel to open in man-made megaproject King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) City, 100km north of Jeddah.

In an exclusive interview with Hotelier Middle East, Hussein Ali Hatata, vice president - hospitality division, Al Khozama Management Company commented on the recent signings and openings and revealed his vision for the expansion of the company’s management portfolio.

“We have right now four more properties in KSA. Our target in 10 years is to reach 5000 rooms in the major cities with different brands; Al Khozama and Al Faisaliah.

“We would like to expand the personalised service in all the major cities in the country so we don’t have to focus only on Riyadh. That’s the target and the vision.”

Hatata revealed that the focus for the company’s expansion is “obviously Riyadh” but that there are “three other major cities in Saudi Arabia” the company is looking at too. These are Al Khobar, Makkah, Madinah and Jeddah.

There are no plans as of yet for Al Khozama to expand outside of Saudi Arabia according to Hatata who commented: “There is enough demand in Saudi Arabia right now so let’s fill all the major cities in Saudi Arabia, which is what we are doing right now."

Al Khozama currently has six operating hotels in Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah and King Abdulla Economic City, just north of Jeddah, and a number of owned properties in Riyadh.

The company’s inventory stands at 1749 room, including 87 apartment units. The 396 additional signed rooms in Al Khobar will take the total room number to 2044.
