Jumeirah Rotana has collaborated with ERE Homes and WSP volunteers to hand out iftar packages to 160 labourers and construction workers in Dubai.

The team also distributed care packages consisting of a toothbrush, toothpaste, shampoo, soap, deodorant, razors, and detergent soap.

Jumeirah Rotana general manager Dana Hlavnona general manager said: “Construction workers are the ones behind those beautiful houses where we stay, behind those amazing and tall buildings that we see every day and all the roads we travel to.

"We should be thankful to them for making all of these things happen. Labourers are also the ones who have limited resources and I believe that they also deserve to receive appreciation.”

The Ramadan initiative was planned by Taskforce Middle East, a group of eight professionals working for construction firm WSP in the Middle East.

Commenting on the event, WSP Taskforce 2014 chairperson Bahaneh Dehghani said: “This initiative is one that is very close to our heart and the response we have received from our employees from all grades has been overwhelming. We are pleased to be able to support the workers who are key to the success of the UAE.”
