The second phase of the Jumeirah Corniche Development Project in Dubai has been completed, with the walkway and leisure development now extending to 4.5 kilometres.

Scheduled to be completed next October, the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) project extends about 7 kilometres and the project encompasses a 5-meter wide walk, 4-meter wide jogging track, and rest areas including retail kiosks, shaded benches overlooking the beach as well as public & health amenities.

This latest phase spans 2.5 kilometres, meaning the completion rate has reached 77%. The project is scheduled to be completed by next October.

RTA Traffic and Roads Agency CEO Maitha bin Udai said: “The newly completed sector of the Corniche will be open for the public as of the third week of this month, and walking and jogging enthusiasts are invited to practice and enjoy their hobbies at the Corniche, particularly as walking is growing into a good healthy practice amongst all community members.

“The project is characterized by a unique touch of beauty featuring gorgeous landscaping and flooring works; which are distributed in highly coordinated style in addition to decorative lighting in a stylish and innovative manner.

Once completed, the corniche will extend from Dubai Marine Beach Resort up to Burj Al Arab Hotel.
