Grand Hyatt Dubai has appointed David Mansfield as the general manager and area director for Hyatt Hotels in Dubai, taking over the role from John Beveridge, who is moving to Park Hyatt Mallorca as pre-opening general manager.
Mansfield joins Grand Hyatt Dubai from his most recent post as the general manager of Grand Hyatt Mumbai and area director for Mumbai, Pune and Goa, where he led a team of 1400 employees.
A hospitality school graduate with a Masters of Business Administration, Mansfield has been associated with multiple Hyatt properties around the world, having held general manager positions at Hyatt Regency Kuantan Resort – Malaysia and Grand Hyatt Melbourne – Australia.
In his new role, Mansfield will be managing the Dubai portfolio for the group, which includes the Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Park Hyatt, Hyatt Place, and the upcoming Hyatt Regency Dubai Creek Heights, scheduled to open in early 2015.
