The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company has become the first founding partner of IMPACT 2030: The Global Initiative for the Advancement of Corporate Volunteering, launched on December 5 at the United Nations headquarters.
IMPACT 2030 is a global private sector-led collaboration created to mobilise corporate volunteers to contribute to achieving the United Nations’ sustainable development goals.
Ritz-Carlton and fellow founding partner companies will showcase the differences their employees are making locally, nationally and internationally through corporate volunteering activities across the globe.
At The Ritz-Carlton, Dubai International Financial Centre on December 14, the team and guests will participate in 'Give a Ghaf' under the Give Back Getaways programme at the hotel.
Guests will be transported to the Al Barari Farm and Nursery where they will receive a personalised tour from the horticulturist, after which they will participate in planting Ghaf trees, a rare and endangered desert plant species of cultural and ecological significance to the UAE.
Future activites will be carried out on an ad hoc basis under the Give Back Getaways campaign at the hotel.

"In communities where we do business, we will be collaborating with corporate partners and other stakeholders to help address critical issues."
The focus areas for The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company's social and environmental responsibility programme, Community Footprints, are hunger and poverty relief, child well-being and environmental responsibility.
Through the combined efforts of all of Ritz-Carlton staff, the Community Footprints teams will reach out to 100 communities in 28 countries and territories throughout the world.
The initiative is aimed at addressing critical social and environmental issues and inspiring the private sector to positive action through corporate volunteering.
