Department heads at Arjaan Rotana Dubai yesterday switched roles and worked in different departments as part of the Rotana ‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ initiative.
‘Knowing Me Knowing You’ is aimed at increasing understanding and empathy between staff in different departments.
Staff at Arjaan Rotana spent half a day in another department to experience their colleagues’ roles through a hands-on approach.
Arjaan Rotana general manager Mark McCarthy commented: “This is a good exposure to understand how one department works.

“It’s a valuable experience and it teaches us to have a better understanding on what goes on in another department,” said Sandeep Kumar, Arjaan Rotana IT manager, who took became the building management system operator for the day.
Arjaan Rotana Dubai chief engineer Ahmed Salem, who took on a concierge role for the day, added: “This experience makes you appreciate all your colleagues and the hard work put in for the successful running of the property”
