Hawthorn Suites has appointed Osman Nasir as the new director of sales and marketing and Brian D’Souza as assistant food and beverage manager.
Osman Nasir will lead the sales and marketing department in setting and achieving targets to maximise revenue and direct corporate sales and marketing strategies to compete in the market.
He will also be responsible for strengthening relationships with the hotel’s existing partners and generating local and international business leads.
Nasir brings more than 16 years of hospitality sales experience to his new role, and was formerly with Dusit Residence Dubai Marina, where was assistant director of sales and marketing, before being promoted to DOSM.
As assistant food and beverage manager, Brian D’Souza will ensure that all short term and long term targets of the F&B departments are met. He will also direct the department’s activities to boost revenue and profitability.

D’Souza has more than seven years of F&B experience, and was previously with Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort, where he served as room service captain and worked his way up to the title of restaurant manager.
Bassem Mohammed Al Switey, Hawthorn Suites’ new housekeeping manager, will be in charge of managing the housekeeping department to ensure high standards of sanitation in all parts of the hotel, including guestrooms, public areas, F&B outlets, banquet facilities, and back of house.
Al Switey has previously worked ay Sheraton Jumeirah Beach Resort and Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort & Spa in Dubai. He also held similar positions at InterContinental Jordan and Grand Hyatt Amman.
