Media One Hotel has announced a ‘Vertical Race’ to be held on Saturday 17th January 2015 at the Media One Tower. The marathon-inspired stair climbing race is open to pre-registered individuals and teams, with prizes for top three men, top three women and top three teams totalling AED 20,000 (US $5444).
The race starts from the ground level with a run through the car park up to parking level 7, and is approximately one kilometre long. Participants will then proceed to the stairs, all 700+, and race from level 7 all the way to level 42, where the finish line will be waiting with a water station and spectators.

There will be prizes to the value of AED 20,000 ($5444) for the winners, based on and awarded to the three top men, the three top women, and three top teams announced at the on location award ceremony. The result list will be posted and all times achieved will be sent to the runners via Premier Online, the official timing partner for the Vertical Race.
Media One Hotel’s director of operations, Felix Hartmann said, “We are looking forward to preparing and participating in the M1 Race. For the individuals it will be more serious and a challenge for personal bests, but for the team event we are looking for corporate companies to start training and hopefully pitch themselves against some of their rivals! But we are also happy for anyone to create a team to participate if they don’t think they can manage the feat alone. We actually have a Media One team in training and I am the coach, though they definitely need a little more practice at the moment, but we will soon be challenging one of our hotel competitors.”
