Dubai’s Jumeirah Group is set to double its hotel portfolio to 42 properties by 2018, according to a report by Reuters.

The group plans to open up to two new hotels, Jumeirah Group president and CEO Gerald Lawless has said. Jumeirah is currently in the process of opening a new hotel in St. Petersburg and is also seeking investors for a Moscow property.

The new properties will add to Jumeirah’s current portfolio of 22 hotels in the UAE, Kuwait, China, Britain, and Italy.

Jumeirah Group has recently signed a number of new properties, including a US $234 million resort on Abu Dhabi’s Saadiyat Island, and three new hotels in China.

The group is also set to open its first hotel under its lifestyle brand Venu by 2017, while phase four of its Madinat Jumeirah development is set to open in 2016.
