Young chefs from Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek bagged 20 medals at 2015 edition of Salon Culinaire during Gulfood.

The team won two gold medals, four silver medals, and 14 bronze medals. Among the winners was demi chef de partie Rahil A. Rathod, who won one gold medal and two silver medals. Rathod was also crowned Best Young Chef 2015, taking home one of five major trophies at the competition.

Radisson Blu Hotel, Dubai Deira Creek placed sixth out of 120 hotels at Salon Culinaire.

Commenting on the win, director of kitchens Uwe Micheel said: “Gulf food was bigger than ever, we had more than 1300 competitors. I am extremely pleased with the development and the performance, especially of the young team members.

“With the new knowledge the team has gained in this competition they are now ready and looking forward to the next competition, which will be the East Coast competition held in Fujairah this summer.”
