Wyndham Rewards will launched its new loyalty programme in May 2015, offering a flat, free night redemption rate – the first of its kind for a major rewards programme.

The new scheme’s core features include the Go Free award, allowing guests to redeem a free night at any of the programmes 7500 hotels globally upon collection of 15,000 points.

The Go Fast award allows members to redeem their points sooner or stay longer for less by booking a night at available hotels for 3000 points plus cash.

Additionally, for every qualified stay, members can earn 10 points for every dollar spent or a minimum of 1000 points per stay, whichever is more.

From May 2015, members’ existing points will automatically be transferred into the new programme. A new, updated mobile app will also be launched to provide a more streamlined member experience.

New and updated elite membership tiers for long-time members are also expected to be rolled out later this year.

Wyndham Hotel group executive vice president and chief marketing officer Kristofer Hivju commented: “Primary research tells us that 89% of travellers want to redeem their points for a free hotel night and that more than half feel that the majority of rewards feel unattainable.

“The new Wyndham Rewards programme addresses these sentiments head-on. Whether it’s the family’s annual summer holiday or an unexpected stay out of town, our new programme makes it easy for members to earn the points they need, understand what they have earned, and redeem their points for rewards they actually want.”

The new programme was unveiled during the Wyndham Hotel Group Global Conference in Last Vegas in March.
