Online travel agent TripAdvisor is expanding its services with the acquisition of Portuguese-based restaurant reservation app Best Tables for an undisclosed sum.
Best Tables operates in Portugal and Brazil and has over 1200 restaurants signed up for its service, which allows customers to find and make reservations at restaurants.
The search function can be used to find restaurants in certain locations, of particular cuisine and at a certain price level. It also allows users to find out which restaurants are fully booked and which are taking reservations.

TripAdvisor has had a busy year in terms of M&A – Best Tables is the third restaurant reservations site it’s taken over in the past 12 months. In May of last year it purchased Seatme.nl and lens.nl, both Netherlands-based booking sites.
Recent noteable acquisitions include travel journal app Rove, La Fourchette, an online travel research company based in Paris and Gate Guru, an airport and flight mobile app.
