Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts welcomes pre-opening GMs to the UAE this month in preparation for the openings of its Dubai International Financial Centre and Abu Dhabi properties.

Carlo Stragiotto, the newly appointed general manager for Four Seasons Hotel Dubai International Financial Centre arrived in Dubai last week and Sam Ioannidis is due to arrive in Abu Dhabi on June 20 to manage Four Seasons Abu Dhabi.

Both properties are expected to open in 2016.

“Carlo is the ideal choice to lead the team at our second location in Dubai, and we look forward to his unique insights as we create this luxurious hotel in the heart of one of the world’s most exciting cities,” said Christian Clerc, president hotel operations - Europe, Middle East and Africa, Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts.

Stragiotto has been with Four Seasons for 22 years, and has been promoted into his new role from hotel manager at Four Seasons Hotel Milano.

Speaking three languages, the Italian-born hotelier has worked at Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts in Paris, Istanbul, Las Vegas and the Red Sea.

Ioannidis, who is due to arrive at the end of the month, is currently general manager of Four Seasons Hotel Baku, his first role outside of the United States.

Born in Germany to Greek parents, he has been with Four Seasons hotels & Resorts since 1998, and started out as director restaurants and bars, Four Seasons Hotel Toronto.

He has since held positions at Four Seasons Hotel New York, Four Seasons Hotel Boston, Four Seasons Hotel Houston, Four Seasons Hotel Palm Beach and Four Seasons Resort Nevis.

Four Seasons Hotel Dubai at DIFC was announced just six months after the opening of the company’s first Dubai hotel — Four Seasons Resort at Jumeirah Beach.

The property will have a 24-hour restaurant, a tea lounge in the lobby with a terrace and there will also be an eighth floor sky bar and a cigar room at mezzanine level for after-work cocktails.

Four Seasons Abu Dhabi now has its framing completed, and when it opens in Q2 2016, the 34-floor hotel will feature 190 hotel guestrooms, 54 serviced apartments and 1290m2 of meeting and conference facilities.

It will also have a rooftop pool and 300m2 garden looking over Al Maryah Island's waterfront promenade.
