Amwaj Rotana, Dubai has upgraded its wireless infrastructure to meet the increased demand for speed and connectivity by guests.

The hotel has added 100 new access points to cover all of its guest rooms, restaurants, recreational areas, and the lobby.

The hotel will also upgrade all its internet access points to a newer model in 2016.

The enhancements follow a recent study of guests’ internet usage, which revealed that more than 71% of guests use more than two mobile devices requiring an internet connection in a double occupied room.

Amwaj Rotana director of IT Rabih Merhy said: “The most prominent change in guest behaviour in recent years has undoubtedly been with regards to technology, and we believed that as a five star hotel, we need to keep aligned with our guests’ changing expectations and the latest trends.”

The hotel will also install larger TV sets and fully interactive system for guests by 2016.
