How has winning a Hotelier Award impacted your career?
Winning the Hotelier Award was a wonderful industry recognition and has had of course an impact. It is very rewarding when hard work gets appreciated and it positively influences perception internally as well as externally and motivates me to go the extra mile every day.

Are you hoping to be nominated this year for an award?
There are a lot of talented people out there who deserve to be nominated. I will continue exceeding expectations and setting industry standards.

What is the best piece of advice you can give other hoteliers who want to win a Hotelier Award?
Be innovative, think out of the box and create value in your profession; and when applying for the award, submit a sharp and crisp nomination.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?
Life is full of surprises! I think living in the present and enjoying what you do is the most important thing. I love the tourism industry and want to be part of it for more years to come, extending the expertise I have gained in Europe and the Middle East to other markets.

What’s your dream position?
Holding that jackpot-scoring lottery ticket in my hand to launch my own boutique hotel.

Who is the one person that inspires you most?
My mum influenced very much who I am today. She is an artist and very creative but down to earth at the same time. She always pushed me to think big and never give up when I wanted to achieve something.

What is your life ambition outside of work?
My husband and I love travelling, spending time with each other and exploring new places. We always look for authentic experiences and recently started a travel blog just because we enjoy sharing what we see – have a look at coupletrips-theblog.me
