Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers is observing the United Nations International Day of Charity on 5 September.

The week-long campaign will support the Beit Al Khair Society, a charity that provides for families undergoing hardship.

Guests are invited to donate school supplies and clothing for the charity and as a small gesture of appreciation, the hotel will give one complimentary ice cream in return.

The charity event, dubbed ‘A Kilo of Kindness for a Treat of Ice Cream’, will take place from September 5 to 12.

“We have always focused on building meaningful relationships with the local community we operate in and with strong support of the team as well as the guests staying with us we are able to give smiles back and ensure a better future for our children.” said Movenpick Hotel Jumeirah Lakes Towers GM Hayden Edgtton.

“The joy of giving is always rewarding. Our partnership with Beit Al Khair Society complements our commitment to position the hotel as an active participant within the local community and allows us to localize our global strategy to make a difference in the lives of others.”

A donation box for the Beit Al Khair Society is located at the hotel’s lobby. The ‘Kilo of Kindness’ initiative is part of Movenpick Hotels & Resorts’ global sustainability programme Shine, which aims to give back to the communities where the company operates properties.
