He has also worked for Shangri-La Luxury Hotels and Hyatt Hotels.

Essam Abouda, area VP of hotel operations for Arabian Peninsula & Turkey for Hilton Worldwide, said: "We are thrilled to have David at the helm of one of our landmark Waldorf Astoria properties.
David's wide-ranging, global expertise in the luxury hospitality industry will be an important asset in overseeing a hotel that caters to influential international travellers."

Wilson commented on his appointment: “I am excited about …joining the team at the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah. Throughout my 30 plus years of experience, I have always admired the rich heritage and industry-setting service standards of the Waldorf Astoria brand.

“I look forward to expanding on this legacy and ensuring an unforgettable experience for our future guests.”
