Burgu Arjaan by Rotana and Tango Arjaan by Rotana have opened in Istanbul, along the coastline on the Asian side of the city.
The adjacent properties are near Istanbul’s budget airport, Sabiha Gökçen International and between them contain 319 keys rooms.
The properties have three towers, with Burju Arjaan featuring two connected towers and the Tango Arjaan next door with one door made of bevelled, gold-tinted glass.
Speaking to Hotelier Middle East about the group’s expansion plans in Turkey, Omer Kaddouri, president and CEO, Rotana, said: “The opening of our first properties in Turkey is a significant step forward that comes as part of Rotana’s wider growth plans to continue expanding its global footprint.
“Turkey is a key tourism destination and our presence there serves to continue strengthening our growing portfolio of international properties. We expect our successful foray into this market to set the foundation for new and exciting projects to flourish around this geographically unique part of the world.”
He continued frankly: “Turkey is a market you cannot afford not to be present in. With 37 million international tourists passing through the country annually, Turkey is positioned among the world’s most visited countries. The city of Istanbul was ranked the No. 1 travel destination in the world by TripAdvisor in 2014.”
As proof of Rotana’s keenness to expand in Turkey, Rotana has signed agreements for two new properties with Turkish construction company Dap-Yapi – the Dalga Residences and Vazo Residences, both located in Cevizli.
When opened at the end of this year and Q1 2016 respectively, the Dalga Residences and Vazo Residences will bring the total number of Rotana properties in Turkey up to four.
