Hilton Abu Dhabi has teamed up with Pink Caravan to raise funds and create awareness about the importance of early detection of breast cancer among residents of the United Arab Emirates.

In celebration of Hilton Worldwide’s annual ‘Global Month of Service’ throughout October, Hilton Abu Dhabi’s Vienna Plaza will turn pink.

Some of the attractions include a strawberry panna cotta served on a berry crunch, a pink white chocolate nougat cake pop and a pink mousse cake with raspberry jelly.

The red velvet cupcake will be sold at AED 15, with 100% of the proceeds going towards local charity Pink Caravan, a pan-United Arab Emirates breast cancer initiative by Friends of Cancer Patients, (FoCP).

Wolfgang Maier, general manager, Hilton Abu Dhabi said: “I’m proud of my team who have enthusiastically rallied around this great cause. The entire team is wearing pink this month, whether it is the pink ribbon, a pink tie, pink socks or a pink shirt. Even our chefs will be sporting a specially made pink embroidered chef’s jacket.”

Hilton Abu Dhabi is also inviting Abu Dhabi’s female community for a free yoga session at the hotel’s Hiltonia Beach Club on October 21. The hotel is making a plea for participants to donate AED50 towards Pink Caravan.

The hotel team will also participate in ADCP’s Pink Run and all female team members will receive free self-check training from a local hospital.

"We would like to thank Hilton Abu Dhabi for their support of the Pink Caravan during the international breast cancer awareness month this October" said Dr. Sawsan Al Madhi, director general of Friends of Cancer Patients and head of the Medical and Awareness Committee of Pink Caravan.

“Since its inception in 2011, the initiative has raised awareness about the importance of breast cancer early detection and has screened 34,400 people. The strong collaboration and support we receive from the private and public sectors is what continues to expand our reach to educate everyone living in the United Arab Emirates about the disease.”
