Rodolfo De Araujo Pires has been appointed as speciality chef de cuisine at Fogueira, the churrascaria restaurant at the Ramada Plaza JBR.

New to the region, this will be the Brazilian national's first culinary experience in the Middle East.

Starting his culinary journey in 2006, he became a sous chef at Sao Cristovao Restaurant in Sao Paulo in 2009.

Pires moved on to be chef de partie on Costa Cruise. After a year, he returned to Sao Cristovao as head chef.

Prior to this role, Pires took a seven-month sabbatical touring in South America, a journey of 15,000km focusing on the gastronomy and culture of Argentina, Bolivia and Chile, landing in Trancoso/Bahia in Brazil before finally making his move to the UAE.

He attended Senac University, Sao Paulo, and holds a degree in Tecnologo Em Gastronomia (Technology in Gastronomy).

“Bringing additional Brazilian flavours to Dubai gives me the opportunity to explore the Dubai market and is the start of a new chapter of my professional career in Dubai,” he said.
