Oman based Dunes by Al Nahda resort Wadi Al Abiyad, a 75-minute drive from Muscat International Airport, was launched by Ahmed bin Nasser al Mehrzi, minister of tourism.

Mehrzi said the resettlement issues for the Thuwara Nakhal project have been completed in cooperation with the locals and will be put for the tender at the earliest.

He added that he wants more investors to take up such projects in the country.

"Be it a private getaway or a more adventurous holiday, we have the best of both worlds," said Al Nahda Hotels and Resorts managing director Niti Ajit Karsandas Hamlai, the parent company of Dunes by Al Nahda.

Guests are greeted by a wellness-consultant to assist them in picking from a range of spa therapies including hot sand therapy, and a spa treatment carried forward from ancient Egypt.

Dunes has a range of activities including a variety of extreme sports like dune bashing, quad biking and sand surfing or more relaxed ones as camel riding, bicycle riding and kite flying.

The project had recently received the title of Preferred LVX property.
