The book collection campaign by Arjaan by Rotana reached a conclusion with a final 400 books donated to Al Hemam Institute in Ajman.
The hotel placed collection boxes around strategic areas within the premises and in selected schools.
The hotel's general manager Mark McCarthy said: "It is a gift of literacy to the less fortunate where we collected used books in collaboration with the UAE Red Crescent and Flea4Charity. The initiative was launched last year and the collection drive officially ended in December 2015."

In the first month, Arjaan managed to collect 300 books from corporations which were distributed to a children’s organisation in Nairobi, Kenya and for the following months donations came in from Greenfield Community School Dubai and private donors, mostly English language books for beginners.
In total, 900 books were collected and McCarthy said the final donation to the Ajman institution marked the end of the book drive campaign.
The property will continue to support the importance of literacy and will start another book drive by this summer.
