Louise Brodie claims the runner's up spot at the world-wide contest Louise Brodie claims the runner's up spot at the world-wide contest

Louise Brodie from Burj Al Arab was the runner-up at the David Campbell competition, held in January 2016, which seeks to find the best receptionist in the world.

Brodie advanced to the final after winning the regional competitions at the ‘Receptionist of the Year 2015’ awards, held by AICR (Amicale Internationale des Chefs de Réception).

She joined 15 other competitors from all over the globe in Vienna. Participants were marked by a panel of judges for their skill and talent, and had to perform a series of challenges.

“Louise is a passionate and dedicated colleague, capable of handling even the most challenging requests. She is truly an asset to the team at Burj Al Arab,” said Ahmed Ereiba, executive assistant manager for rooms.

Brodie has been employed as a guest service executive at the luxury Dubai-based hotel since August 2014. She hails from Scotland and has an educational background in acting and performing arts.

The David Campbell trophy is named in the honour of the late David Campbell who became chef de reception at The Ritz Hotel, Paris, after gaining international experience in several properties across the world.

“In the hospitality industry and especially in the front office department, colleagues are motivated by creating extraordinary experiences for guests, which requires them to have genuine people skills,” Brodie said.
