Shaza Al Madina has launched a Saudi talent development programme in the luxury hospitality sector named 'Shaza Kifah' under the patronage of the Saudi Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF) and Madina College of Tourism.

Shaza Kifah was launched by Majid Bin Mousa Al Onezy, Dean of Madina College of Tourism with Adil Abulaah Shafee, the general manager of HRDF and Brahim Robbio, general manager of Shaza Al Madina.

The training programme has been designed to generate local talent from the Saudi youth.

The programme takes a year to complete and will be open for up to 30 local Saudi talents a year; it will offer them an insight into the hospitality industry and give them the opportunity to travel to other Shaza Hotels around the world.

Shaza Al Madina is working closely with the College of Tourism, which will offer Shaza Kifah participants a qualified team to regularly oversee their performance, certification at the end of the programme, and also provide motivation, guidance and training to the trainees throughout the training period.

Shaza Kifah has also been supported by the Saudi Human Resource Development Fund (HRDF). The HRDF is a government institution working under the Ministry of Labour; its aim is to support and encourage private companies to provide job opportunities for local Saudi talent.

The HRDF will support Shaza Kifah with the following; providing an interest assessment tool for candidates to go through, creating a pool of candidates for the programme to be interviewed by the hotel and assigning a team to supervise the programme and the candidates throughout the training period.

Robbio said: "Colleagues lie at the heart of our organisation, at Shaza Al Madina we have created an extensive development programme for all our colleagues and now we are very proud to launch Shaza Kifah, the first Saudi Talent Development Programme in the Kingdom.

"We are very keen to help the local community and offer new opportunities to local talents by empowering them with skill set and giving wings to fly."

The launch event was also attended by Salih Abbas, the general manager of the Saudi Commission of Tourism & National Heritage; Ehab Al Samkary, the chief of the Saudization Commission from the Emarat of Al Madina and officials from the Ministry of Commerce and National System For Joint Training.
