Grand Hyatt Doha has appointed Xavier Halbi as the new director of rooms.

Halbi brings more than a decade of experience to his new role at the 249-room leisure hotel.

The French national earned a degree in hotel management at the Vatel Hospitality Management School in Lyon, France before obtaining his MBA in international hospitality management from Cornell University and ESSEC Business School in 2004.

Halbi began his career at the age of 19, when he got his first job in Lyon as a bell attendant and continued working his way through the hotel industry, working in different countries around the world such as China, the UAE, France, England and the Maldives.

He began his career with Hyatt at the Hyatt Regency Xi’an, China, as guest relations manager and assistant manager front office and has since worked with the group for 11 years.

“I seek to understand my customers’ needs first,” said Halbi. “Until you understand your customers genuinely you cannot truly serve them. That is the key to exceptional service.”

Being a certified NLP master practitioner and NLP coach, Halbi is an expert on behavioral analysis. “I want to coach my team and help them reach their potential, that’s why I took it upon myself to become a professional coach. It is also essential to create a motivating environment for my employees, which helps deliver good service from happy employees.”
