City Seasons has opened its seventh property, a four-star hotel in Bur Dubai, bringing the total number in Dubai to three, said City Seasons Hotels group general manager George Demitry.

Speaking to Hotelier Middle East, Demitry said: “Diversity of marketing is very important in launching a new property here in Dubai, it allows for strong footing in this competitive market. We are very efficient in our operations and our brand represents strong consistency; this is what allows City Seasons to develop so successfully.”

The Bur Dubai property took two years to construct and is the 6th property by the group in the four-star category, bringing the total number of rooms in the chain to 1555.

”We have strong food and beverage concepts in this property, this is key to attracting a good mix of segments, including local market to our hotels,” he added.

“We have a strong focus on meetings and events too, we are very popular in this sector, it can be a little bit challenging, if we get the quality right the booking will come.”

The top three source markets for City Seasons Hotels include GGC, Europe and China, according to Demitri, “We are now seeing strong growth from South America too,” he added.

Speaking of upcoming developments, Demitry said: “We have projects covering smaller properties of 100 units and others with 400 rooms across the UAE and Oman; while some are still at the initial development stage, others are at construction phase and should be completed within a year.”
In the coming twelve months City Seasons Hotels will be adding third-party owned hotels to its portfolio as well as extending its own operations to hospitality investors in the UAE and abroad in preparation of Expo 2020.
