During ATM, Hotelier Middle East met with Ghada Abdel Khalek, director of marketing communications for Cairo Marriott Hotel & Omar Khayyam Casino.
Abdel Khalek revealed that the Cairo-based hotel is currently working on the launch of its first spa. Construction on the Saray Spa is expected to start in Q4 2016.
The Cairo hotel is eager, Abdel Khalek told Hotelier, not to lose the summer season in Egypt during the renovation process, and consequently expects to begin the project in winter this year.
The spa is expected to include a new hammam area, and the renovation will also include a new pool area. The new pool will be the same size as before, but elevated approximately 1 metre higher, the company has said.
The spa will focus on natural products, including amenities containing Dead Sea minerals, honey, dates, and cinnamon.
