Katara Hospitality has donated five-star hotel furniture to a Qatar based charity.

Katara Hospitality has announced that a selection of luxurious hotel furniture, including over 2,000 items has been donated to Qatar Charity (QC).

The donation is part of Katara Hospitality’s ‘ongoing commitment to supporting communities and underprivileged members of society through an integrated approach to corporate social responsibility’, according to a statement.

The donation follows the refurbishment of The Ritz-Carlton Doha. 

The donation includes sofas, benches and upholstered chairs, coffee tables, lamps, bed sets, headboards, drapery and curtaining, wall hangings and table fixtures.

‘As Qatar’s flagship hospitality organisation, we remain committed to partaking in initiatives that foster the development of our society through our corporate social responsibility programmes. Qatar Charity plays a vital role in supporting our ongoing efforts as one of our partners for addressing charity-related issues,’ said Katara Hospitality chairman Sheikh Nawaf bin Jassim bin Jabor al-Thani.

QC CEO Youssef Ahmed al-Kuwari said: ‘Katara Hospitality has supported Qatar Charity through donations for several years, with the company’s management and staff constantly taking a proactive approach to supporting the underprivileged members of our local community. We are very grateful for this generous contribution as well as the ongoing efforts to improve the community through various projects.’

‘Synergies benefiting underprivileged societies have existed between Katara Hospitality and Qatar Charity for several years,’ said Katara Hospitality CEO Hamad Abdullah al-Mulla.

‘In addition, Katara Hospitality’s employees support Qatar Charity’s Tayf initiative, a charity programme that involves in-kind donations of items for the benefit of the less fortunate members of society.’
