According to Priceonomics Data Studio, bookings at Trump Hotels have dropped significantly in 2016.

Priceonomics analysed data from Hipmunk to compare bookings at Trump Hotels in Q1 2016, versus Q1 2015.

The research indicated that Donald Trumps’ hotel group has suffered a significant decrease in bookings, with a 59% drop in bookings this year, versus last year.

According to the data analysis, the Trump hotels that have been most effected by a decrease in bookings were Trump Soho New York, which suffered a 74% decrease in bookings, Trump International Hotel Las Vegas, where bookings have decreased by 71%, and Trump International Hotel & Tower Toronto which has seen a 47% drop.

This is despite Hipmunk reporting an overall increase in hotel bookings through their website in 2016 so far.

Priceonomics highlights Donald Trump’s current campaign for the US presidential elections as a possible factor for this drop in bookings.

Donald Trump hit international headlines earlier this week when the presidential candidate involved himself in conjecture regarding the disappearance of EgyptAir flight MS804 from Paris to Cairo, over Twitter, and during an interview with MSNBC.

During the interview with MSNBC, Trump said “another plane was blown up and I can practically guarantee who blew it up."

"Nobody's gonna travel, there will be no anything, there will be no communication between countries, and you will have a problem the likes of which you've never seen. That plane didn't go down because of mechanical failure," Trump continued.
