Mehdi Othmani has joined Hilton Salalah Resort in Oman as the new GM of the property.
Othmani, a German-Tunisian citizen, joined the property in March, bringing 22 years of hospitality management experience to the Omani resort.
Othmani holds a masters degree in hospitality management from Almeda International University, and a certification in financial management of hotels from Cornell School of Hotel Administration.
His career began, as a lecturer, teaching at the Mediterranean Institute of tourism in Tunis.
Subsequently, Othmani worked in a number of countries worldwide, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, Turks & Caicos Island, Morocco, Kenya, Egypt, Uganda and Oman.
Before joining Hilton Worldwide, he also worked for Moevenpick Hotels and Resorts, Occidental Allegro Hotels & Resorts and REWE Touristik.
Speaking to Hotelier Middle East, Othmani said: “I consider myself an “environmental conservationist”. In 2014, while general manager of Hilton Hurghada Plaza, my hotel won the double accolades of being the leading green hotel in Egypt and in Africa. The double award recognised our team’s commitment to sustainable practices and our support to the local community.”
Othmani added: “the best part of my job is to coach employees to their next career move.”
