Increasing food sales during Ramadan has resulted in a decrease in violations relating to expired food in Doha, a senior official at Al Rayyan Municipality has revealed.

The Peninsula reports that its source at Al Rayyan Municipality added that inspectors of the Health Monitoring Section have, however, caught some violations committed by kitchens, due to the high numer of iftar meals being prepared.

He said in these cases, food hygiene standards was the problem.
