Rocco Forte Hotels has appointed Michele Norsa as non-executive director to its main board with immediate effect.
Norsa most recently served as chief executive officer and group managing director of Italian luxury goods company, Salvatore Ferragamo S.p.A., where he led the team since 2006.
He currently also serves on the board of directors of Oettinger Davidoff AG and is a member of the International Advisory Board of the China Europe International Business School (CEIBS).
Prior to this, Norsa was at the helm of major fashion and luxury companies in Italy, from Valentino Fashion Group S.p.A, Marzotto S.p.A., Benetton Sportsystem Active and Sandys (Sergio Tacchini).
Norsa graduated in business administration from the Università Cattolica, Milan, in 1971.
Rocco Forte Hotels chairman Sir Rocco Forte says: “I am very pleased that Michele is joining us. His wealth of luxury brand experience will add to the expertise of our existing board of directors as we pursue a new phase of expansion in a number of major markets with particular focus on Italy.”
