As a result of Qatar’s reported drop in revenue and occupancy, hotels in the country have been advised to use their F&B options to attract guests to the property, reports Doha News.

Colliers International predicted that hotels will need to adjust pricing in order to attract guests, predicting that the cost of hotel stays in Doha will fall 7% by the end of 2016.

Colliers' forecast is that hotels should address their F&B offering, to create “more attractive” options to draw guests into the hotel.

The report by Colliers International stated: “If successfully implemented, F&B revenue can account for as much as room revenue, or even more in some cases. Having a more attractive F&B offering will also lead to a more appealing property.”

According to Colliers International, over 30% of Qatar’s hotel rooms are expected to be empty by the end of 2016.
