The Westin Dubai has now opened in Dubai, adding more than a thousand rooms to the emirate in the process. It is Dubai’s second Westin property, and the third hotel by Starwood Hotels & Resorts to launch in Al Habtoor City, located off Sheikh Zayed Road in Dubai.

The new Westin property, which is the largest Westin hotel in the Middle East, Europe and Africa, is spread over 41 storeys. The new hotel offers 1,004 rooms, including 142 suites.

Commenting on the opening, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, Europe, Africa and Middle East president Michael Wale said: “Together with Al Habtoor Group, we are excited to deliver Westin’s well-being promise to guests at Starwood’s largest hospitality project in the Middle East. This opening reaffirms Westin is on track to double its presence in the Middle East in the next three years.”

The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City general manager Khaled Ghaleb added: “The Westin Dubai, Al Habtoor City is the largest Westin to open in Europe, Africa and the Middle East. Providing an urban retreat with a resort feel, the hotel offers an array of endless choices across its many facilities including 1,004 rooms and suites, six restaurants and bars, and our 20-treatment room Heavenly Spa.”

The hotel’s design has been partly inspired by the UAE’s Hajar mountain range, with the addition of Art Deco motifs, according to a company statement. Out of the 142 suites available at the hotel, the hero suite is the 425mHeavenly Suite, which is located on the 40th floor of the property. The Heavenly Suite is designed with floor-to-ceiling windows, in order to offer views of Dubai Water Canal (once completed) and Sheikh Zayed Road.
