Interest in academic programmes catering to the Middle East tourism and hospitality sectors are on the rise according to Modul University Dubai, the Middle East branch  of Austria’s international private university.

Modul University Dubai has experienced a jump in demand for graduate and MBA programs in the hospitality and tourism sectors as well as a number of professional development courses for hotel professionals.

Speaking to Hotelier Middle East at the Hotel Show 2015, head of corporate and executive education Ramy Bayyour said: “We have met a lot of people at the Hotel Show and the feedback is good, the demand for academic programmes is strong, and the visitors to our stand have given us a lot of insight into the market's needs and even provided new ideas on how we can develop and advance the market further.”

He added: “Yesterday we held a full day master class programme here, with one of our facilitators, based on the topic of optimising your revenue through digital marketing strategies. We spoke to all the hospitality and tourism marketing managers in attendance and witnessed great interaction; this presented a great opportunity to speak to them about what they would like to see in upcoming programmes and how to develop courses to meet their specific needs.”

Programmes offered by Modul University are customisable for individuals or hotel groups, allowing them to choose a number of academic programmes available to undergraduates, postgraduates and professionals looking to start a career or develop a career in hospitality and tourism.

The Jumeirah Lakes Towers, Dubai based branch of Modul University is the first expansion of the institution outside of Austria.
