Khaled Al Jamal and Jérémie Laurent have been appointed as the general manager and executive assistant manager in charge of food and beverage, respectively, of The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi, Grand Canal.

Al Jamal joined in August 2016, and comes from the Al Jaddaf Marriott and Marriott Executive Apartments in Dubai, where he served as the pre-opening general manager since late 2013.

His tenure with Marriott started in 1987 at Amman Marriott where he spent three years in various food and beverage roles followed by a move to the US with Sheraton and then Holiday Inn.

In 1994 he re-joined Marriott as director of restaurants at the Budapest Marriott, ultimately taking on the role of the property’s director of food and beverage.

In 2002, Al Jamal was appointed cluster director of operations for the Prague Marriott, Renaissance Prague and Marriott Executive Apartments, and then took on leadership of his own hotel in 2003 as the opening general manager at the Courtyard by Marriott, Moscow.

In the followings years he served as the general manager at the Beirut Marriott in Lebanon, cluster general manager at the Prague Marriott, Renaissance Prague and Marriott Executive Apartments as well as the opening general manager of The JW Marriott Ankara in Turkey.

Under his leadership the latter won three Marriott International awards for guest satisfaction and “ACE of MICE” award for two consecutive years as the leading meeting venue in the city.
