Marriott International has reopened Sheraton Oman Hotel following a renovation that lasted nearly 10 years.

With the opening, the property has a new line-up of executives, a company statement has reported.

New appointments include: hotel manager, general manager director of food & beverage, director of sales, director of revenue, director of marketing, director of HR, director of engineering, executive chef and executive housekeeper.

With more than 30 years of experience with Sheraton, Thomas van Opstal will take the helm as general manager of Sheraton Oman.

Hotel manager Andrea Emmerling has experience with Starwood hotels, most recently as manager-learning & development in the Starwood office in Brussels.

Director of finance Devraj Karnik joins the team after his previous stint as deputy director of finance for the Four Points by Sheraton Complex in Dubai.

Director of food & beverage Marcus Ptok has worked in the food & beverage industry for more than 15 years across countries such as South Africa, Seychelles, Russia, Turkey, Azerbaijan, Central Asia and Saudi Arabia.

Director of sales Mai Nasser has worked with the Sheraton brand, including Sheraton Luxor, Sheraton Heliopolis, Sheraton Cairo and Sheraton Abu Dhabi, with her most recent role being at Le Royal Meridien Abu Dhabi.

Director of revenue Florian Wessel joined Starwood in 2011 with the complex reservations team before moving into revenue.

Director of marketing Jeremie Lennoy joins the team from the Starwood regional office in Dubai where he was senior manager digital marketing for the Middle East.

Director of HR Rahma Al Shidhani has previously worked on two hotel openings before joining the team at Sheraton Oman.

Shan Sirajudheen, director of engineering, comes on board after his most recent position at Le Meridien Fisherman's Cove in the Seychelles.

Executive chef Neeraj Pyaneeandee has spent years working in French cuisine, with his creative, innovative and modern style.

Executive housekeeper Claudia Arnhardt has experience in the hospitality industry, across countries such as Hong Kong, Lebanon, Sudan, Jordan, Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Sheraton Oman features 230 modern and spacious rooms, including 27 suites with panoramic views of the Al Hajar mountain range and offers easy access to the Old Town.
