Millennium & Copthorne, Middle East and Africa (MEA) has signed a management agreement with Altin İstanbul A.Ş. to operate the group’s first property in Turkey.

The Millennium Golden Horn Hotel, Istanbul, is located in the historic Golden Horn area of Istanbul and signifies the start of a planned strategic expansion across all regions in Turkey for Millennium & Copthorne.

Due to open in 2017, in the European sector of Istanbul, the property is within the borders of an urban transformation project of Ottoman Ayvansaray, executed by Fatih Municipality, and covering an area of approximately 11,000 m².

The hotel will have 125 rooms and will include a restaurant, bar, two terraces, one ballroom, one meeting room and a wellness area that offers a Turkish hammam, sauna, a gym and a swimming pool.

Millennium & Copthorne MEA chief operating officer Francois Kassab said: “This marks a significant milestone in Millennium & Copthorne’s expansion towards 2020.

“Turkey has always been on our radar and we have decided to take this step and enter the market with one of the most reputable partners in the country - Altin İstanbul A.Ş. We believe that this new project will attract tourists from around the world because of its unique location and character.”
