Eastern Mangroves Hotel & Spa by Anantara has appointed Pitak Srichan as Thai chef of signature restaurant Pachaylen.
Srichan arrives in the UAE from the Anantara Layan Phuket Resort, where he oversaw the operation of Dee Plee.
With a career spanning over 38 years, Srichan has worked for many brands including Four Seasons and Gstaad Palace.
He also participated in the World Gourmet Festival for Four Seasons Bangkok (now Anantara Siam Bangkok) for three years running.
Srichan began his career in Thailand, where he worked his way up from a chef de partie to Thai chef. He has worked across kitchens in Saudi Arabia, England, Germany and Malaysia, and after a seven-year stint where he was Thai cuisine chef instructor at Four Seasons Resort Kho Samui, he settled with Anantara where he has now been for four years.

“We are delighted to welcome chef Pitak Srichan to run our signature restaurant, Pachaylen," said Wael Soueid, area general manager of Anantara Hotels, Resorts & Spa, Abu Dhabi, in a statement.
"He brings with him an in-depth understanding of Thai cuisine along with a deep knowledge of running a kitchen and team and we are thrilled he has joined us in Abu Dhabi after a successful few years at Anantara Layan Phuket Resort."
Srichan said: "This is a very exciting career change for me and I am delighted to be moving to Abu Dhabi and working with the talented team who reside there, creating new culinary experiences for the guests at Pachaylen every day."
