I have been in purchasing for the last three years.

What specific products are you on the lookout for?

We are always on the lookout for best quality products with cost-effective items, such as food and drinks items, operating supplies, guest amenities, and repair and spare parts items along with furniture and fixture equipment.

What area of your hotel are you most proud of?

Our hotel has won the best location award in Oman and we have our signature restaurant (RBG & Grill) and signature bar located on the rooftop of the hotel (Sama Terrazza).

Tell us about one of your most successful deals?

We have succeeded in saving costs by 10% this year. At the same time, quality of the products has gone up a notch as we have consolidated our supplier base and are buying from one supplier across all Carlson Rezidor properties in Oman.

What does a supplier have to do to impress you?

The products have to be of impressive quality for us to consider them. Price stability and timely distribution are also important. Suppliers need to be trustworthy, and have great service.
