Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is cracking down on models posing in scantily clad pictures on Instagram and geotagging its location on the popular social media app.

This complaint comes after models were posing for an "unauthorised" photoshoot for designer Anna Chibisova's brand D'AngelAnn that sells swimwear and dresses.

A spokesperson for Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah told Hotelier Middle East: “We are aware of an incident at our hotel over the weekend involving an unauthorised, branded photoshoot and images circulating on social media, and we are currently investigating. We appreciate interest in our hotel as a location for a commercial shoot, and we welcome requests in advance to ensure the necessary legal approvals are in place and to minimise any guest disruption. We also fully encourage all of our guests to share their personal hotel experiences online with friends, family and followers, while respecting all local laws and regulations. Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah is committed to creating an environment that is welcoming, comfortable and inspirational for all of our guests and visitors.”

The Daily Mail reports that the photoshoot included model and TV presenter Victoria Bonya, 37, actress Anna Kalashnikova, 44, and TV reality star Alena Shishkova, 24. The Mail also reported a hotel spokesperson as saying that the pictures were damaging the hotel’s image.

The pictures posted by the models last week shows them in different swimwear at different parts of the hotel.

The 319-room hotel is the brand’s first property in Dubai and its second in the UAE, with the Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah having opened in 2013. The prices for rooms start at AED 1,650 (US $449).
