When Scandinavian retail giant Ikea debuts in Bahrain next year, it will house the Kingdom's largest restaurant, covering an area of 2,500mand seating 800 diners.

Construction on the Salmabad-based store and restaurant will finish in Q2 2018 and it will open later that year, confirmed Ikea Saudi Arabia expansion manager Fruto Hernandez.

Ikea Bahrain, which is expected to attract over 1.2 million people each year, is being opened in partnership with Saudi Arabia’s Al Sulaiman Group.

Ikea restaurants are best known for serving the brand's famed Ikea Swedish meatballs in a creamy gravy sauce.
