Dubai-based horeca and catering supplier Intelligent Foods has announced it is looking to expand its business in the GCC region.

Intelligent Foods primarily manufactures and supplies different varieties of freshly made pastas, breads, jams and chutneys. “We also have about 1200 flavours of ice-creams, which will be launched to the public through our franchising concept Glow, at the Mercato Mall later this year” said Intelligent Foods general manager James Le Gassick.

Le Gassick told Caterer Middle East that Intelligent Foods currently supplies a few major five-star hotel chains and a few of the region’s top airline operators. “We were founded in 2000, and we currently have a steep expansion plan this year. As it stands we supply to clients in the UAE and a little bit of Saudi Arabia, but this year we are going to Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain and Qatar.”

Intelligent Foods aims to operate across the GCC market by the end of 2017. “When our production levels have reached a certain level, we will be looking to open satellite production facilities in these markets.”

Intelligent Foods is looking at growing its Dubai facility, and is in talks with landlords for potential sites. “The Made in UAE tag sets out compared to a lot of the competition, giving us an advantage. By the end of the year we should be involved in other business areas, which I cannot say too much about at this point. All I can say is it goes beyond the horeca segment.”

The company also operates its own café brand – More, which has undergone a revamp. “Along with Glow, we More is also a concept we would like to open more outlet of, with a franchising component to it,” he said.
