The eighth annual Qatar International Food Festival (QIFF) has opened and hungry hordes have descended upon the event, Doha News has reported. The event is being held for the first time at the city's new Hotel Park near the Corniche and will run until April 8.
A variety of attractions await at the festival, with different sections divided into hotel food, organic cuisine, Instagram businesses, international food and an area featuring different embassies serving traditional dishes from their home countries. Food prices range from QAR 5 (US$ 1.4) to QAR 35 ($ 9.6).
Festival guests can lounge around on bean bags scattered around a grassy hill near the venue or dine on several picnic tables and benches set up across the park.
Other attractions include live cooking demonstrations, a kids' crafts, arts and play zone, as well as live musical performances on stage in the embassy section. Guests will also be entertained by fireworks scheduled every night at 8 pm.
The festival is open from 2 pm to 10 pm on weekdays and from 2 pm to 11 pm on weekends until April 8.
