Marriott International officially opened the Aloft Al Ain, the brand’s first property in the city of Al Ain and second in the United Arab Emirates.

It aligns with the expansion plans for the Aloft brand, as Marriott plans to open 10 new hotels across the Middle East over the next five years.

Owned by Abu Dhabi based developer Al Qattara Investments, Aloft Al Ain forms part of the city's 500,000 m2, Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium mixed use development which also consists of the 25,000-seater award-winning Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium.

Marriott International president and managing director Middle East and Africa Alex Kyriakidis said: “Aloft continues to redefine the traditional hotel experience and we are proud to introduce the brand’s tech-forward, vibrant experience and modern style in Al Ain.”

“The opening of Aloft Al Ain strengthens our presence in the United Arab Emirates and also reinforces the demand for mid-market hotel development in the region.”

Al Qattara Investments CEO Kareem Nagy added: “The Hazza Bin Zayed Stadium Mixed-Use Development has been conceptualised and built to become the new heart of Al Ain. Aloft Al Ain is set to energise the local community with its offerings and also brings an urban sophistication to the food and beverage scene in the city.”

Aloft Al Ain offers 175 ‘loft-like’ guest rooms and suites with platform beds, walk-in showers and Bliss amenities.

All rooms and suites are equipped with SPG Keyless - the mobile check-in system where guests can utilise their mobile phones as room keys.

Aloft Al Ain general manager Andreas Plum said: “The hotel guarantees a vibrant experience for local residents and travellers into the city with its distinctive sense of style, innovative programming and buzzing social scene.”

Aloft Al Ain food and beverage options include: re:fuel - a 24 hour Grab and Go snack bar, W XYZ - the brand’s signature bar, Olive Tree - the all-day dining restaurant and The Rooftop – believed to be the first lounge in Al Ain.

The hotel also offers a 24-hour re:charge fitness center and an outdoor rooftop splash pool. The property also features four on-site ‘tactic’ meeting spaces.

Aloft Al Ain marks the brand’s fourth property in the Middle East following the launch of the brand in the region in 2009.
