Somewhere Hotels will be soft opening a 200-room hotel in Al Ahsa, KSA at the end of the year, with a launch planned for Q1 2018, corporate office general manager Abdullatif Kabbara revealed to Hotelier Express.

Wellness will be a highlight at the new property in the form of a 2,000 square metre spa, with separate facilities for men and women, being developed in partnership with Bali-based Karma Resorts.

Kabbara revealed that the mid-market hotel group remains bullish about prospects in Saudi Arabia. “Even though the market has gone down, there are areas which are always doing very well, such as Makkah,” he said, adding that Somewhere Hotels is currently in discussions over management of a property in Al Khobar, with details to be disclosed once the agreement is finalised.

Somewhere Hotels presently operates Somewhere Hotel Apartments in Al Ahsa, Saudi Arabia, which features a range of one-bedroom suites as well as the two-bedroom royal suite and two-bedroom presidential suite. All suites offer high-speed wifi, flat-screen TVs, tea and coffee making amenities and kitchenettes.
