The Marquis City Center Doha Hotel was recognised by Marriott International with five awards for outstanding leadership and team performance in 2016 including Spa Leader of the Year, Director of Events of the Year, Chef of the Year and Marketing Team of the year for the Middle East and Africa Region.

Andreas Wissdorf was adjudged ‘General Manager of the Year’ for the Middle East and Africa region in 2016 during the Middle East & Africa General Manager’s Conference in Dubai in April 2017.

With over 20 years of hospitality experience within Marriott International, Wissdorf brings an exceptionally high level of personal commitment to his team and motivates them to lead and to achieve outstanding results within their individual departments. Under his stewardship the hotel enjoyed a successful year in a competitive market in 2016.

Market supply increased by 8.7% year over year in Qatar, but the Marriott Marquis City Center Doha Hotel managed to increase its market share by 3.2% year over year.  Additionally throughout 2016, the hotel was awarded eight prestigious regional titles in the food and beverage and the culinary segment.
