Atlantis, The Palm has appointed Kyp Charalambous to vice president of sales, based in Dubai.

“Kyp has played an integral role in ensuring the commercial success of Atlantis over the past eight years. He is extremely entrepreneurial in his approach and has leveraged a number of successful partnerships across sales, marketing and PR. His innovative thinking will continue to enhance the strategic direction and growth of Atlantis, The Palm," remarked SVP of sales, marketing and PR Ravini Perera.

Previously director of leisure sales, Charalambous' new role will see him drive the overall sales strategy for the resort, with a focus on maximising room revenue, occupancy and market share for Atlantis. He will be responsible for continuing to grow the resort’s market share in all key markets and ensuring the resort's presence throughout existing and developing regions – the resort currently welcomes guests from 200 countries across the world. In addition, he will play an integral role in increasing business for the resort’s Imperial Club and suites offering whilst continuing to deliver campaigns across sales, marketing and PR.

Charalambous joined Atlantis, The Palm in 2009 and has over 20 years of industry experience leading a team of sales managers and delivering commercial results. Prior to Atlantis, he worked across various market segments in luxury hotels including the InterContinental Hotel Group and Hyatt.

Charalambous said: “Over the past eight years, the leisure sales team has succeeded by having a commercial yet personal approach to business. We work closely with our clients and have adapted to the changing market conditions, but ultimately have delivered against the goals and objectives set for the year. In my new role, I want to ensure that Atlantis continues to be the number one entertainment destination resort in the Middle East, delivering amazing experiences and everlasting memories for guests.”
