As part of an ongoing initiative to enhance commercial skills and drive leadership and innovation among its senior management, Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts has hosted a 'Business Academy' event at the Mövenpick Hotel Ibn Battuta Gate, Dubai.

Over 70 key management leaders from the hotel group attended the annual Mövenpick Business Academy,which took place at Mövenpick Ibn Battuta Gate Hotel from 15th to 17th May . This three-day training programme consisted of five key workshops designed to further enhance business skills and develop key areas of leadership and innovation. Mövenpick president and CEO Oliver Chavy and senior VP human resources Craig Cochrane opened the latest edition of the company’s Business Academy.

The Business Academy is a valuable training that continuously drives our commitment towards training and development, career progression and brings our key leaders together. This training is what sets Mövenpick Hotels & Resorts apart as one of the world’s leading and most progressive hospitality firms," Mövenpick VP talent & organisational development Peter Mitchell said.

The 79 Business Academy participants covered topics regarded as essential to Mövenpick’s ongoing success, such as: “process-driven strategy & innovation”, “business acumen”, and “mastering the leadership code”. and involved participants from Mövenpick’s hotels across the UAE, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and Saudi Arabia.

Since the programme’s launch over seven years ago, Mövenpick Business Academy has trained top tier executives across their properties, running events several times annually in locations across Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa where the company now operates 83 properties. Two additional Business Academy events will be taking place in 2017 in Amsterdam and Bangkok.
